EVERYONE!
Bruce and I have created a newsletter on the subject of 21st Century skills and the issues and vocabulary that surround it. Although the newsletter is done, we are having trouble posting it. It will be ready shorty.
In the meantime... here is something to think about.
When we talk about 21st Century skills we are, of course, referring to the skills needed to survive in our digital, global economy. According to the CEO Forum Report on School Technology and Reading, (2001) 85% of today's jobs require education beyond high school (this figure is probably much higher right now). In 1991 this figure was onlyl 61%. The development of digital literacy and communication skills are critical for these students to succeed.
Are our kids getting these skills? Do we have the faculty qualified to teach it? How about your school? Please comment.
